This story is a great example of well written erotica. The hero of the story is Charlie - tall, dark and delectably handsome, and also an expert in the art of pleasing women, especially when in comes to dominance. Our heroine, Angela, is given a choice of men and the various services provided from Limited Partnerships, a company owned by her friend Beth. When Angie sees Charlie's photo, she is reminded of the long-ago childhood crush she had on him. She wants only him, and wants to try her hand playing a dominatrix. The catch - she doesn't want Charlie to know it's her. You'll have to read the story for yourself to see how this spicy hot romance plays out.
I really enjoy this author's use of first-person perspective. It switches back and forth from Angela's and Charlie's points of view. As a reader, it feels like you have a wonderful glimpse into each characters thoughts and emotions as the story is unfolding around them. Charlie is one hot character - I just love him! And I think that he and Angela compliment each other perfectly. A great story, full of steamy scenes and of course, the happy ending.
I was lucky enough to serve as a Beta Reader during the editing phases for this series. I say lucky because this was one of the best stories I've read in a long time, written by an experienced author who has a gift for adding those little touches that make her characters and plots come to life. You won't find cardboard characters here, or thin plots framing gratuitous sex scenes. You also won't find editing mistakes (always a plus!).
Charlie's story kicks off the series with a bang. He's sexy in a real way, so I identified with him as someone I might actually meet (and lust after). He's no billionaire with issues who inexplicably falls for some damsel in distress. He's strong, capable and knows exactly what he's doing until his job as an escort puts him into close contact with a woman from his past. And the woman in question isn't a lip-biting, insecure virgin who doubts her every move. She's strong, and capable, and knows exactly what she wants . . . the unattainable Charlie. The way their story plays out has all the best elements of good erotica and romance novels. There's a real conflict, emotion, heart, and plenty of sex that's not just there for shock or show. I appreciated the way the sex scenes were full of dynamics that added to the story, instead of BEING the story.
